What is chiropractic.
Chiropractic is a medicine concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system ( bones, joints and muscles ) with a particular focus to the spine, commonly called “back”. These disorders can also have a knock on effect on the nervous system and its normal functions. The nervous system consisting of the brain, spinal cord ( protected by the spine ), sensory organs and nerves connecting these organs with the rest of the body is responsible for the control of the body and all its different functions ( heart beating, lungs breathing etc ).
In order to address issues affecting our body and nervous system chiropractors use a variety of techniques ranging from manual manipulation, stretching and acupuncture. Advice on exercises and rehabilitation will also be provided. The ultimate goal is to get rid of pain, increase function and increase mobility of the spine and body.
